Frequently Asked Questions

Fine line tattoos are precise thin lines that are different than your traditional tattoos in that they are more like an outline of a tattoo. They are simplistic and dainty in nature but can include shading and color as well. The tattoo is completed using a small group of 1-5 needles instead of a cluster of needles as in traditional tattoos.

Check here before and after booking for fine line tattoo service.

CAN I GET A FINE LINE TATTOO ANYWHERE?

  • Yes, as long as you know a few things.. A fine line tattoo can be placed anywhere on the body but know that some locations differ in their ink retention and blowouts. Some areas like the hands, feet, fingers, ribs, inside wrist, and inside elbow ditch have thin skin and therefore a higher cell turnover rate which could cause fading over time in these areas. Because of the thin nature of the skin in these areas they may also be more prone to blowouts (spreading of ink under the skin). We can/will discuss this more should you decide to chose one of these placements. I want you to be well educated and understand what will be best for the longevity and look of your tattoo.

WILL I NEED A TOUCH-UP?

  • Not all tattoos will require a touch up, but it is also normal that some may require one. Some locations like the finger may require more than one touch up. Some body locations require more maintenance and follow up. Touch up appointments are not included in the initial cost of your tattoo so take this into account when choosing your tattoo location. Your need for a touch up will vary from person to person dependent on many factors including but not limited to skin type, tattoo placement, lifestyle (sun exposure), and how well you follow and perform after care.

HOW DO I PREPARE FOR MY APPOINTMENT?

  • You should avoid caffeine, alcohol, and blood thinning medication prior to your appointment for 24 hours. If you don’t avoid these things prior to your appointment you may have more bleeding, pain, and poor ink retention. It is important to follow pre and post care to have the best outcome for your tattoo. Please come to your appointment wearing clothing to keep you comfortable, and warm. Also make sure your clothing is appropriate for the area you are wanting tattooed.

HOW DO I BOOK AN APPOINTMENT?

  • Prior to booking an appointment, you need to submit a request form through the link in the menu at the top of this page. This request form will be either approved or denied. Once approved you can move forward with booking your appointment through the book now or book here feature anywhere on the website or by clicking services at the top and scrolling to find fine line tattoos.  Please be as detailed as possible in your request form. Information to include is a detailed description of the design you’d like, location, and size. If you have any pictures of what exactly you want or an inspiration photo you may include that as well. The more detailed in your request the better I can prepare for your appointment with what you’d like. It takes time to create and draw your design so keep this in mind when completing your request form. If you change your mind or want to edit/delete/add details to your tattoo after you’ve submitted your request, please do so on a new request form at least 2 days prior to your appointment.  If you submit a photo, keep in mind I will tweak the original design slightly to avoid copyright infringement, but will keep it as close to the design you want as possible. You will receive your final design at least 2-3 days before your appointment so minor adjustments can be made IF needed and not less than 24 hours before your appointment. If major changes are required, your appointment may need to be cancelled/rescheduled to accommodate time to edit your design. A cancellation fee will take effect (please see policies).

CAN I GET ANYTHING I WANT?

  • I will only approve tattoos I feel comfortable taking on in a fine line style. If you have any questions about your design please reach out to me by DM or email. If your style is denied I will leave a comment for why and what you can do to be approved, if able. Again any questions about this you can reach out to me personally. I also will not tattoo anything that is offensive or includes any kind of hate speech. I reserve the right to refuse any design. I will be able to refer you to another tattoo artist in this case.

WHAT IS TATTOO AFTERCARE?

  • After your tattoo is complete, I will place a protective film over your skin. This film is transparent, waterproof, and latex-free. This film helps to prevent scabbing which accelerates tattoo healing and gives less irritation. Less scabbing also leads to less damage to the skin/tattoo. It can get wet and be worn in the shower. You should leave this film on for 1-3 days or longer if you’d like, but no longer than 7 days. If it starts to come off before the 3 days it is okay to just remove it. Once removed wash your tattoo with mild unscented soap and water and pat dry. Continue to gently wash and dry your tattoo daily and apply aftercare balm or unscented lotion (like aquaphor) for 10 days.  It is normal during the initial stages of healing that your body will weep fluids. This is contained in your protective film and you may notice your ink looks like it is spreading under your dressing but don’t worry this is not a problem with your tattoo but the collection of fluid and moisture under the dressing. Your protective film will come off in one piece and remove from one corner and pull down slowly (think command strip).

  • Avoid picking/scratching

  • Avoid submerging in water for 2 weeks (baths, pools, hot tubs). If you have a vacation planned where you plan to be swimming on in the sun a lot I suggest you reschedule until you can complete proper aftercare.

  • Avoid the sun (especially during the first 2 weeks of healing but using sunscreen after this time, each time you are in the sun, will help prolong the life and vibrancy of your tattoo)

  • Avoid tight clothing that could rub and irritate your new tattoo

  • Stay hydrated, drink water and keep your tattoo hydrated but not too wet.

  • Seek medical attention if your tattoo looks infected, excessive redness, swollen, bleeding, or pain.

WHAT WILL MY TATTOO COST?

  • There will be a studio minimum of $75 for a fine line tattoo. Regardless of size a minimum fee will be used. Prices after the studio minimum will depend on size, placement, detail, and the time it may take to create the design/stencil for your tattoo. It will be priced per piece not by the hour. Flash tattoos are typically priced less than studio minimum. These can be found under the menu>Flash or under the pinned or highlighted post on social media pages and a tattoo request form is not required for flash designs. Just comment which design you’d like.
